Switzerland
Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland, and also the Capitol of it’s Canton. The city is located at the north end of the Lake of Zurich, which is so clean that swimming in it is not only possible, but a yearly sports event is hosted in it. Zurich is surrounded by mountains, which offers hiking possibilities in the summer, and skiing opportunities in the winter. The locally spoken language is German, but as it is also a largely international city it is easy to get by with English. It is known for it’s excellent financial institutions, business opportunities and hospitality sector.
SSBH’s campus is situated in Thalwil in the canton of Zurich. Here we conduct on-site classes, training, and student advice. The campus also hosts offices and an area for student relaxation. Thalwil is only ten minutes away from Zurich Central station, and as such it is as close to the city as we could possibly get. By placing our campus in the city instead of in the mountains, we hope to give our students a different experience from other schools. As the biggest city in Switzerland, Zurich is an international city offering students many opportunites.
Switzerland is a mountainous Central European country, home to numerous lakes, villages and the high peaks of the Alps. Its cities contain medieval quarters, with landmarks like capital Bern’s Zytglogge clock tower and Lucerne’s wooden chapel bridge. The country is also known for its ski resorts and hiking trails. Banking and finance are key industries, and the Swiss are known for their excellent public transportation. Switzerland is divided into cantons, which each canton having its own capitol. Four languages are spoken in Switzerland, with French and German as the most prominent languages.
Our Thalwil Campus
Thalwil campus is located in Gewerbestrasse 14 in Thalwil, occupying 2 floors of the Pfiffner Building. Being in the area, it is the main location for work companies. Which means students have easy access to Convenience stores, insurance companies, cleaning companies, auto repair shops and gas stations whenever they need.
The campus has 3 lounges where they can study and work on their projects, doing group discussion while relaxing. There are two lecture rooms for classes running simultaneously, one has projector for presentations so students can easily follow along with the online class so cameras are setup. The other lecture room when vacant can be used by the students to study and discuss things about the lessons. Teachers can use it too when they are conducting test or activity that doesn’t need a projector so in need of seclusion.
Near the two lecture rooms is the Administration office that is ready to welcome the students for their school issues or even merely consulting about living in Switzerland.
